G-H Water Polo Ear Guard Development and PATENT
Our founder, Greg Hind (a Pan-Am Gold Medalist, Three time All American Water Polo player for San Jose State and 2-time U.S. Olympic Trials Water Polo player), developed and patented the first ever Water Polo Protective Headgear, called G-H Ear Guard from 1966-1969. This product launched our company, GH Company, Inc. in 1966.
Before 1966, eardrum ruptures were common in water polo. Greg looked beyond this problem, saw a solution, and worked quickly to put it in to play.
In 1972, 1976 and 1980, Greg’s company was selected as the exclusive supplier of the Water Polo Ear Guard at the Olympic games.
