HINDsight: Breaking Barriers [not Goggles] – The Unbreakable Compy Goggle

August’s “HINDsight 2020” – a monthly share where we take a moment to reflect on our history to celebrate and be inspired.

HINDsight: Breaking Barriers [not Goggles] – The Unbreakable Compy Goggle

While swim goggles existed beginning in the 1920’s, it was in 1975 when our founder, Greg Hind, patented the Compy Goggle and broke barriers in goggle development.

The Compy had no curvature, was unbreakable, had an ingenious hinge-buckle for easy adjustment or replacement of straps, and became known internationally for its unique patented design features.

The Compy Goggle was all-around a visionary goggle, giving swimmers a considerably larger, as well as undistorted, field of vision.

A similar product is available today from Water Gear. To this day, we are still contacted by swimmers seeking out the latest version of the Compy, which was just re-launched in August 2020 by Water Gear and available at GH.

The rest is written in history – outlined on our blog.
